Founder's Day Picnic Saturday, October 26, 2019 On October 26, 2019, the HKN Delta-Omega chapter hosted the annual Founders Day Picnic held at Manoa Valley District Park. This was a chance for HKN pledges (and officers) to compete as teams and pairs and get to know each other through various activities. The first game was a beefed-up relay race style of tic-tac-toe that involved two teams, 6 bags of skittles, and one tic-tac-toe board drawn with chalk. We kept the same teams for the next activity which was passing pretzels from one person to another using nothing but mouths and toothpicks (or chopsticks and blindfolds). We then broke into pairs and played a version of dodgeball where one person was blindfolded and the other directed the other player. Solid lunch break after dodgeball, then we played the classic water balloon toss where everyone takes a step back after each successful pass. There were plenty of leftover balloons for other shenanigans. We then played a version of charades in two teams where the actors would pass along their pantomime sketches until the person at the front of the line had a guess. Finally we played a few rounds of proper dodgeball. The picnic was a good chance to play around for a few hours with fellow HKN officers and pledges while putting off studying for midterms.
