Garrett Young
HKN Professional Biography
Garrett ZH Young is a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. His academic interests include digital signal processing, logic and PCB design. He is currently a hardware engineer for the Smart Campus Energy Lab (SCEL), a member of the MicroMouse Executive Board, and a pledge for the Delta Omega chapter of IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (HKN). Graduating in the Spring 2016 semester, he will be moving to California with a job as a Hardware Engineer at Raytheon's Space and Airborne Systems division. Outside of school, his hobbies include band, traveling, hiking, and running. Q: What video game / movie / TV show would you want to live in and why? I would want to live in the world of Pokemon. All you do is train Pokemon and still stay young forever! Q: Where is your hometown and favorite place on the island? My hometown is Honolulu, HI. I like to drive to the North Shore to eat Shrimp! Q: What would you like to accomplish the most from your “bucket” list? Hike "Stairway to Heaven" Q: What inspired you to join HKN? To network and build relationship with people within my major. |
