Mengyuan Wu
HKN Professional Biography
Mengyuan (Jerry) Wu is a computer engineering student at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. He is currently a member of the Smart Campus Energy Lab (SCEL) and is working on designing an embedded system that can use acoustics to detect wind speed and direction. His interests are in programming and embedded systems. Upon graduating in May of 2017, he hopes to work at a tech company where he can contribute to significant projects. Outside of school, he enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, and sleeping. Q: What inspired you to join HKN? I saw it as a good opportunity to connect with some of my classmates who I would see daily, but never really talked to. Q: What video game / movie / TV show would you want to live in and why? Inception. Since time would be significantly slowed in dreams, I would have a lot more time to do things. Plus, I'll be able to control my surroundings which is cool. Q: Where is your hometown and favorite place on the island? I grew up in the heart of Waikiki and my favorite place would have to be my bed because I could always use some sleep. Q: What would you like to accomplish the most from your “bucket” list? I really want to drive a Tesla Model S. |
