Tyler Yamauchi
HKN Professional Biography
Tyler J. R. Yamauchi is a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is planning to graduate in 2018 and is currently making strides to specialize in the electro-physics track, with a possible focus on device physics. He is currently a hardware engineer for the Smart Campus Energy Lab (SCEL) and a board member for IEEE. Tyler plans to pursue work after graduation with the hope of returning to school later on for a higher degree. A hobby of his is playing in the University of Hawaii Marching Band. Q: What inspired you to join HKN? I was really surprised to be considered for such a prestigious club. I took it as life’s way of giving me an opportunity to actually do something in college, something that I could be proud of (besides graduating). Q: Where is your hometown and favorite place on the island? My hometown is Mililani and one of my favorite places on the island is Sherwoods beach. I’ve had quite a few great memories there. Q: What video game / movie / TV show would you want to live in and why? It’s always been a dream of mine to live in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Being able to bend any of the four elements has been my desire since the show came out. That or pokemon… I really can’t decide between the two. Q: What would you like to accomplish the most from your “bucket” list? To visit Japan again and again. |
