Andrew Millard
HKN Professional Biography
Andrew Millard is a senior majoring in computer engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He enjoys programming, video games and virtual reality. His interests in computers and science drove his desire to pursue a career in technology. He is considering becoming a government contractor in Hawaii after graduating in Spring 2019; however, he is open to working in a corporate setting. Q: What inspired you to join HKN? When I was an incoming freshman I participated in the engineering Blueprints program. During this program we were put into groups and competed with each other for creating the best mechanism to solve a problem. My group was sponsored by HKN, thus they helped us plan, create and execute our project. My experience with HKN and my desire to increase my networking ability has caused me to pursue joining HKN. Q: Where is your hometown and favorite place on the island? I have been born and raised in Honolulu and consider Kapolei to be my favorite place on the Island. This is because Kapolei is one of the newest areas on the island resulting in benefits such as updated internet lines, modern infrastructure and wide roads. Q: What video game / movie / TV show would you want to live in and why? I would choose classic Disney TV show Corey in the House, since the world seems much safer than most shows. Q: What would you like to accomplish the most from your “bucket” list? I would like to go to some foreign country and just chill |
