Joshua Mellinger
HKN Professional Biography
Joshua Mellinger is a junior electrical engineering student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is interested in semi-conductors, renewable energy, (especially solar) as well as programming. After graduating he is hoping to pursue a career focused on expanding the use of renewable energy, especially if he can do it abroad. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, cooking, spends an unhealthy amount of time watching cooking and baking shows, and likes watching horror movies. Q: What inspired you to join HKN? I wanted to join HKN just to become more engaged in the college experience. The honor society seemed like a good opportunity to meet other motivated students and get access to some different opportunities. Q: Where is your hometown and favorite place on the island? I am from Aurora, Colorado, but stayed on the island after being stationed here in the army. My favorite place on the island so far is definitely Lanikai. There's a lot to do in the area, the beach is nice and the pill boxes are a fun hike. Q: What video game / movie / TV show would you want to live in and why? Despite how nerdy it sounds I'm gonna say I'd want to live in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Chilling on the Enterprise, asking Data lots of dumb questions, having a drink with Guinan, replicating whatever food I wanted. Sounds great. Q: What would you like to accomplish the most from your “bucket” list? I want to see Mount Everest. |
