Nick Whitcomb currently studies electrical engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa after bailing on his first love of studying chemistry at Western Washington University. He hopes to find a career in making renewable energies a reality while continuing coaching water sports. When Nick isn't lurking around UH, you can probably find him training on the Ala Wai Canal to make the US national team for kayaking. Q: What inspired you to join HKN? I was inspired to join HKN to be around folks with similar academic goals and interests, and meet people I can someday mooch a job off of. Q: Where is your hometown and favorite place on the island? I moved around quite a bit when I was little, but moved to Kailua (Oahu) when I was 9. It's probably my favorite place on the island as well. Living with my family in Guatemala for a while would be cool too. |
