Founders Day Picnic
Sunday, October 23, 2016
On October 28, 1904 HKN was founded by an electrical engineering student, Maurice L. Carr, at the University of Illinois. To celebrate the origins of our club, we threw a picnic on Sunday, October 23 to have a fun day with each other and also to celebrate the end of midterms. Almost all of the pledges and several officers attended.
The picnic was held close to campus at the Manoa Valley District Park from 10am to 2pm. Our day was spent playing a variety of games including card games, a pass the pretzel challenge and a blindfolded shape building challenge. Most games were less focused on competition and more focused on laughing and we took a bento break in the middle of the day to relax so it was super chill to say the least. It was a nice way to take a break from studying and hang out as a group.
