Jackson Takahashi
HKN Professional Biography
Jackson Takahashi is currently a Junior-year student majoring in Electrical Engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. This young man's academic interests include mathematics, working with electronics and electrical devices, and working on innovation projects. After he graduates, one of his aspirations is moving to the mainland for a job in Electrical Engineering or at least securing a job on Oahu involving traveling to the mainland. Another aspiration of his is to give back to his community or nation through his career while also making a positive change to society. During his free time, he likes to run, do puzzles, browse the internet, and write things down in his journal. Q: What Inspired You to Join HKN? I joined HKN because I thought it would be a good opportunity to gain some experience as an engineer, as well as to hopefully find job-related opportunities so I can plan for my life after college. Q: Where is your hometown and favorite place on the island? My hometown is Aiea, which I have lived in for my entire life. While I don't have a favorite place on the island per se, I do like to occasionally visit Ala Moana given a chance, usually during school breaks or special occasions. Q: What video game / movie / TV show would you want to live in and why? If I had to choose one, I think it might be the world Pokémon, as it is a fictional reality I would genuinely enjoy, but also most likely amongst the most practical and safest ones for me (although some of the events that happens there might beg to differ). Although I also considered options such as Star Wars, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Harry Potter, I figured that those wouldn't suffice if I lived there like a regular person and had no powers or abilities that would allow me to play a sort of role in the reality, such as Force powers for Star Wars, Elemental Bending for Avatar, and magic for Harry Potter. Q: What would you like to accomplish the most from your “bucket” list? I think the two things I would like to accomplish the most from my bucket list is to visit at least half a dozen other countries and learn about other concepts and topics outside of my major and work life, such as foreign languages and history. In fact, I kind of want to just write a whole book of random knowledge at some point in my life. |
